EVERYDAY OBJECTS

Against the vast backdrop of mass production select items are now referred to as ‘designer goods’. The acceptance of this item suggests that we disregard the designers of all other designed objects. In doing so these designers become anonymous and we cease to both appreciate and critique their work. At the same time, we have learned once again to champion the hand-made, but we now pay premium for these newly elite products. What about the products that do not fit either of these descriptions? These diverse choices of the objects have been selected identifying how advertising and specific visual elements can affect our perception and appeal.
